WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Powertrain Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of propulsion calibration, simulation toolsets, processes, and procedures for streamlining calibration development, data analytics and improving working relationships with suppliers.

We are looking for an Engineer that understands the importance of data and its analysis in the engineering life cycle - a technical mindset that strives for objective over subjective decisions with data-driven solutions.

The Powertrain team are responsible for delivering the highest standard of robustness, working with all the propulsion system teams. We are looking for someone that can future proof the software using a forward-thinking approach and understanding the companywide vision is essential to maintaining/improving the current toolsets whilst developing new features and functions for a constantly changing environment.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Manage the reporting of calibration, vehicle log and diagnostic data against targets/rulesets to create standardized reports that establish a robust image of the calibration quality
* Manage cloud data pipelines, storage, analysis, and visualization of test logs (rig & real) to ensure KPI's are visible at each stage of the development process - and after job one to establish the quality status
* Manage the conversion of desktop-based Matlab toolsets into desktop & cloud-based Python toolsets in-line with company/data analytics best practices to improve the speed and quality of data processing
* Support the vision for the future of data-driven engineering within propulsion controls - from the body of knowledge through to data analysis, visualization, and feedback for continuous improvement


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

As a Powertrain Analysis Engineer, you will monitor all the available data for Diagnostic Trouble Codes. The team must complete the initial part of every investigation and then triage to the appropriate area, assisting in the investigation and solution creation. The engineer would be expected to work with such tools as Tableau dashboards but to also help develop proactive methods such as data-mine, attempting to find issues before faults are triggered.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with a huge passion for the automotive industry and strong project management capabilities with excellent execution skills and the ability to multitask.

You must be comfortable challenging with strong influencing and engagement skills - able to challenge existing thinking positively whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Experience and or knowledge in powertrain type systems
* Experience and or knowledge of modern data analytics, programming, and visualisation
* Development of metrics to monitor and analyse progress during the development phase
* Experience in collecting data from various sources, supporting the investigation to resolve the issue
* Experience and or knowledge of modern data analytics, programming, and visualisation
* Ability to chair meetings, delegate actions and take concise minutes
* Analytical skills to understand the status and to drive continual improvement
* Working with several engineers across many teams, encouraging a strong team effort
* Problem Finding skills with the ambition to continually learn and innovate
