Facility Engineer - Electronic Security

AWE is currently recruiting for a Facility Engineer (Electronic Security) to deliver professional engineering services to enable the Principal Asset Engineer in fulfilment of the strategy for the upkeep of all assets and equipment AWE needs in order to deliver the Programme.

Location - Reading area

Package - £33,850 - £44,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience) + Allowance

Responsibilities:

• Apply domain and technical knowledge for design solutions, as-built drawings and system performance data through life for Electronic Security systems

• Interpret and deliver the requirements of issued tasks from the Asset Engineering Solutions order book (including troubleshooting, quoting, reporting, design, commissioning and handover as required), and make evidence based professional engineering decisions to solve technical problems within area of responsibility

• Identify and escalate business risk arising from performance of existing security systems

• Demonstrate adherence to management system requirement, MoD/Centre Protection National Infrastructure Standards and relevant British standards

• Engage with company delivery and administrative requirements; report own and team progress honestly and clearly, communicate in an engaging manner, support performance management

• Optimise the delivery of Operations Engineering

What will you need to be considered?

• HNC/HND with suitable additional experience

• Membership of an engineering / Security institution

• Incorporated Engineer or equivalent

• Ability to provide specialist C&I design capabilities covering electronic safety and security systems such as CCTV, CACS, PIDS, BIDS.

• Previous experience of delivering security engineering and maintenance services across the life of an asset

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
