Aligning technical content identified in MTC's core business to our apprenticeship and commercial offering (engineer upskilling) is at the core of our strategy. 

We have an exciting opportunity for three Trainers to be based at our state of the art facility, Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS), at Culham Science Centre near Abingdon.

Reporting to the Programme Delivery Lead, the postholder is required to manage and develop a comprehensive and innovative teaching and learning experience in a variety of practical and theoretical skills within the current apprenticeship trailblazer standards.

You will deliver theoretical knowledge and practical competency elements across your specialist engineering provision; therefore you will need to be familiar with either:

Electronic Engineering

Desirable skills include Electrical control engineering such as PLCs, programming and robotics to include electrical principles, electrical science based subjects or similar industrial based experience. 

Electrical Installation

Desirable skills include Electrical Installation qualifications including 18th edition. Industrial electrical engineering aspects such as motor control and panel wiring or similar industrial based experience.

Mechanical Engineering

Desirable skills include maths, mechanical principles, fluid power and milling / turning or similar industrial based experience.

On a day to day, you will deliver high quality technical training to small groups of learners through face-to-face or online learning following nationally recognised qualification. As well as developing technical knowledge and skills you will be instrumental in developing softer skills which are embedded within apprenticeships. 

Classroom or industry teaching experience is not essential however you should be comfortable with planning, designing and delivering engineering training programmes. A strong technical background gained within an engineering environment is vital, along with a customer and quality focused.
