IM&T - Information Security - Lead Architect

Location: Barrow, hybrid working

Salary: dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Apply security standards and best practices relating to cyber security architecture, adapting, and tailoring where required to ensure a secure and compliant estate commensurate to the risk.
  • Advise and support solution deliveries in secure operation, ensuring that the business estate is compliant, protected and enabled to deliver.
  • Ensure that required cyber hygiene practices, operational behaviours, maintenance and updates are applied appropriately to ensure that the solution capabilities are safe and secure throughout their lifecycle.
  • Undertake ongoing risk analysis specific to the cyber security architecture domain, and application of appropriate security controls in line with best practices.
  • In all forums, apply and represent BAE Systems cyber security compliance and instruction, for, programmes and projects, business, customer, and our partners.
  • Contribute and provide direction to the information security strategies and controls portfolio, perform gap analysis.
  • Support & contribute to the overall management of accreditation, compliance, reviews, and audits.

Your skills and experiences:


  • Knowledge of IT Cyber Security principles and how they are applied within Cyber Security Architectures
  • Self-motivated and able to address challenges, through tailoring of standards and application of risk management principles
  • A good understanding of IT technology controls
  • Cyber security experience or qualifications (CCNA, CISSP etc) & understanding of compliance


  • Experience with Cyber Security Architectures
  • Experience with accreditation creation, submission, and risk management practices
  • Experience and understanding of MoD defence sector

The Submarines Cyber Security team:

You will be working within the expanding Submarines Cyber Security team, supporting the cyber architecture and strategy decision making for the business and its enterprise. It's an opportunity to work in a unique and challenging environment, supporting the cyber security for the production of one of the most complex projects in the world.
