Job description:

WHAT TO EXPECT

Vehicle Dynamics is the team within Body and Chassis Engineering responsible for delivering the driven attributes of Vehicle Dynamics - Steering, Ride and Handling - for all core Jaguar Land Rover products.

Novel mechatronic systems are being deployed throughout new Jaguar Land Rover vehicle platforms and require specialist skills in controller theory, calibration, virtual and physical driving and assessment skills.

Active systems have significant authority over the behaviour of the vehicle, its motions and its stability. The systems' scopes overlap such that they need to be tuned together rather than in isolation, meaning an enhanced skill set is required by the tuning specialist to be able to tune them holistically, avoiding cross system conflicts and arriving at the optimum solution for the customer.

This role, working within Vehicle Dynamics in the Active Systems Tuning Team, is to deliver system calibration solutions across a range of different Chassis control systems. It may also involve aspects of controller design, requirements writing, and testing/development alongside external supplier partners. To be successful, the candidate will need to possess a high level of drive and leadership, be capable of independent working and display a systematic approach to solving technical problems.
