STA Launch Manager

Job description:

WHAT TO EXPECT

As STA Launch Manager you will be responsible for the quality of purchased parts for the launch team who execute activities during build phases on new model launches and Warranty Nerve Centre.

You will be responsible for supplier quality performance by managing productive relationships with internal stakeholder and supplier representatives; this includes engaging with supplier representatives on supplier quality & supply issues, STA & Purchasing PMO team and STA New Model Programs on quality and delivery performance concerns leveraging supplier resources to meet the demands of our business.

The STA Launch Manager ultimately reports to the Senior Manager STA & SPQ.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be working with suppliers and internal stakeholders within the launch team.

In the role you will:

Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximise Supplier Technical Assistance influence and ensure alignment with JLR Vehicle Manufacturing processes and policy
Lead and develop the ongoing capability of all team members and associated department processes and activities to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

Previous experience in manufacturing or engineering roles
Proven Leadership/Management experience
Broad experience of managing external stakeholder and supplier relationship management
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and within budget
Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers


Desirable:

Bachelors or Masters Engineering Degree is preferable (but ultimately not needed if good hands-on experience in supplier quality roles)
