This role is an exciting opportunity to join our internationally-renowned GLA Research and Development team (GRAD) employed by Trinity House, and working on behalf of the three General Lighthouse Authorities of the UK and Ireland (GLA), applying your skills and knowledge for the benefit and safety of all mariners.

You will work from our Harwich office benefiting from our new flexible working arrangements. The role will require some national and occasional international travel.

We offer fantastic benefits in return for joining us as our Principal Radionavigation Engineer:

You will spearhead GRAD’s radionavigation team and take responsibility for our resilient PNT activities, covering a range of radionavigation technologies (including GNSS, augmentation, eLoran, R-Mode) and related strategy development.  You will be expected to develop and maintain relationships and collaborations nationally and internationally in support of progressing international standards, informing GLA strategy and supporting an international approach to future navigational safety developments.

You will be highly numerate with a good degree in engineering or physical sciences, or relevant demonstrable experience.  You should have practical experience of at least one relevant radionavigation system and experience operating in a leadership role.  Ideally, you will have experience working collaboratively to develop international standards and projects.
