WHAT TO EXPECT -
Based at our global headquarters and Powertrain Engineering site in Whitley (CV3 4LF), offering a hybrid working model, you will own a major commodity group in the Engine Castings team and coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of new systems and components or commodities within Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) family.
The role requires the individual to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost, weight and time, and lead the module team on the technical content and integrity of components and systems across specific programmes.
In this role, you will own and deliver the Engineering deliverables, lead Agile methodology for product creation within the squad. You will lead meetings focused on Design Review based on Failure Mode when a design is being assessed.
You will manage change requests, expenditure forecasting, and the relevant supplier teams in support of the delivery of the programme milestones. You will manage test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign-off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues.
Other aspects of this role include:
Resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets
Responsible for CAD sign-off & BOM creation and management
Reviews and approve running changes processed by PVT and update program documents as required
Ensure all programme design solutions are met
Keep all Module documentation up to date
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment
A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
Fully conversant in physics of components including performance loading, interfaces, and environment.
Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred
Knowledge of ICE system design, casting, machining design, and production processes
Previous experience within engineering or programme planning departments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
