MBDA Missile Systems - Together. For the future of defence.

Salary:£35K to £60K (dependent on experience + bonus + benefits)

Hybrid working pattern: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working

The opportunity:

Join MBDA and work on the next generation of missile defence systems!

You will bring your experience as an electrical/electronic engineer (we are open to experience level), to work within the Electrical Architecture function for MBDA. As part of this team, you will receive a range of support and development opportunities (you can transfer your skillset from a different industry) and be at the forefront of something truly exciting in the world of defence.

UK or international travel may be required to suppliers, customers, and other MBDA sites in Europe.

What we are looking for:

Ideally, you will have working experience in the defence industry and a degree in a relevant subject (electrical/electronic engineering), however equivalent experience in other industries will also be considered.

There are two specific roles:

1 - Electrical Architect

a) Specify/determine
  • electrical requirements for subsystems/equipment
  • interface definitions and characteristics
  • power architecture, including load budget and profiles
  • data communication and processing architecture
  • requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding and screening
  • signal safety, including routing of safety related signals

b) Support test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification and integration

c) Author and review reports, guidelines, design assessments and analysis

d) Support design reviews

e) Support definition of safety architecture

2 - Electrical Equipment Manager

a) Project manage equipment(s) during development, qualification and manufacture

b) Manage internal & external design authorities/partners for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality and performance

c) Produce Statement(s) of Work

d) Review qualification verification evidence

e) Track and resolve non-compliances

f) Arrange design reviews with appropriate stakeholders

g) Control of assigned budget(s)

h) Manage risks and opportunities
