Job description:

WHAT TO EXPECT

The role will be managing and coordinating all DVP activities for given projects, ensuring product compliance with all customer and internal requirements and specifications for the Seating team of Body Engineering. The Engineer will be an integral member of the core Seating team and manage programme delivery to right time to ensure that Quality is maintained on future products. The successful candidate will be expected to understand complex Seating hardware issues and topics and will be expected to relay some of these topics to others in a clear manner. They will liaise with the appropriate functions throughout the company to ensure that relevant and necessary information is captured for dissemination to project teams.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Develop the Design Verification Plan (DVP) aligned to project timing using the customer Requirements Management and Design Verification (RMDV) tool
* Liaise with the wider Seating team, suppliers and other internal stakeholders to ensure that the designs conform to all customer and internal requirements and specifications
* Support the wider engineering team in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) creation and maintenance
* Create and maintain regular DV (Design Verification) Reports and glide paths to report project status
* Ensure all test reports are fully uploaded to RMDV or TRM
* Validate and update as required the project DV Plans, working closely with the Lead Engineers and suppliers
* Schedule all Requirement Test Cases in RMDV in alignment with project timing and project build events
* Support the wider engineering team in creating and progressing Deviations or Conformance Plans ahead of plan
* Audit RMDv for programmes.


WHAT YOU NEED

Knowledge and experience

Essential:
* Excellent written communication skills (English)
* Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
* Previous experience with DV planning and maintaining
* Previous experience working with suppliers


Desirable:
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Previous experience in Body Engineering / Seating Systems environment would be beneficial but not essential.
* Extensive Automotive Seating Experience with OEM or Seating Supplier.
* An understanding of Engineering Standards and Test Procedures would be beneficial.
* Ability to study complex structured documentation.
* The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a logical and methodical approach.
