    Requirements capturing and analysisDesigning of electronic hardwareIntegrating software and hardware aspects of the final solutionProduction of evaluation/acceptance testing criteriaAcceptance testingThrough-life support (e.g., defect investigations, modifications & upgrades etc.)Producing and reviewing of technical documentation and reports

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

    Experience in design, qualification, testing of electronic circuits and working knowledge of hardware - software integration methodsDegree qualified or equivalent experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering although other relevant STEM subjects may be considered.Experience with developing instrumentation for distributed measurement systems
Desirable:

    Coaches, mentors, and assists others in Electrical Engineering tasksAble to meet the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng), and (or) working towards registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), with the Engineering Council or other relevant and equivalent professional certification and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Body.

The Instrumentation Development Services Team:

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer - Electronics (Instrumentation) who will join our Instrumentation Development Services Team, which brings together specialists from multiple disciplines (Electronics, Software, Support, Metrology, and Project Management), to collaboratively deliver the full lifecycle management (from initial concept to disposal) of bespoke measurement instrumentation Products and systems to meet complex business needs and (or) customer requirements.

The submarine build environment at Barrow-in-Furness is a unique capability within the UK and presents a wide range of complex measurement challenges. The Instrumentation Development Services team play a key role in supporting both site and platform requirements by developing bespoke or modified off the shelf products and systems.

The team is a collaborative working environment pulling together multiple disciplines to work together to deliver a complex products and systems.
