Demonstrate detailed and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles relating to systems engineering with significant experience and be able to apply knowledge to a wide range of engineering issues within own discipline and other engineering disciplinesApply and champion the systems engineering principles of ISO 15288 to the design of safe systems through the entire engineering lifecycle from requirement definition to system integration and customer acceptance into system support and disposalLead the decomposition of requirements to system and sub-system level and manage these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORS and creates and/or assists in the production of design requirement specificationsUndertake system design and modelling to subsystem level including associated external and internal interfaces and manage such models in an approved toolsetMaintain a good working knowledge of systems engineering practices including model-based engineering, digital threads, cyber security, and safety proceduresYou'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role. Your skills and experiences:Essential:
Expert in principles and approaches underpinning design and development activities and demonstrates expert understanding, knowledge, and experience of systems engineering, applying holistic approaches to complex problemsExperience in working to safety and Engineering standards and therefore able to support the System Design Authority and Contract Project Manager in the timely delivery of a design certified product. Knowledge of qualification process for introducing new systems to service, Knowledge of safety requirements / quality processes to support delivery of a safe system.Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent level of competence.

Able to appreciate the breadth of disciplines required and how the system interfaces are defined and managedExperience of working with and leading large scale complex system designsAs an AMDS Design Authority Systems Engineer we will expect you to be a highly motivated and proactive individual. The Design Authority team:As an AMDS Design Authority Systems Engineer you will deputise for the Mine Counter Measures (MCM) System Design Authority in regard to the Archerfish Mine Disposal System (excluding the weapon).You will get the opportunity to see the whole breadth of the lifecycle, from cradle to grave, giving expert guidance to the Engineering Development Team, bringing new products to the market and being accountable for the safety of the AMDS product.You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders including International Navy's, with the opportunity to travel.
