WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Senior Launch Integration Engineer you will need to represent the launch integration team for the pre-production builds across all JLR sites including DC7 Pilot plant, as well as top up launch support in the manufacturing plants as required & appropriate.

The role will drive activities for delivering the targets set by Product Engineering for Electrical Quality in our drive to achieve world class performance levels. The team operate in an exciting and dynamic environment providing the interface between the core engineering teams and manufacturing.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Provide key interface and collaboration with stakeholders in Product Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, MPM, VCATS and Manufacturing Launch throughout the pre-production and production build phases from VB to Job1+ 90.
* The Senior Integration Engineer one of the key representatives from the department in the vehicle launch environment. Working in close partnership with the relevant Programme, Commodity, and Integration Engineers, building a strong and cohesive team.
* Planning and directing the launch Integration team activity across all manufacturing sites and allocating the appropriate Integration resource to support pre-build software validation activity and launch support.
* Working closely with Vehicle Engineering to plan and acquire appropriate test vehicles required for pre-build validation activity.
* Provide technical support in investigation of issues occurring during pre-production builds, review CCAR boards and work with program and CoC commodity leads to identify issue owners, deliver robust countermeasures, and ensure issue resolution in a timely manner
* Drive and influence VCATS delivery in VB and launch builds to ensure plant RFT/FTT targets
* Work in collaboration with CoC's, VCATS and Plant launch teams across all manufacturing sites to centrally coordinate DTC Mask implementation and track robust validation of DTC Mask removal in a timely manner
* Support & provide weekly reports for LMM/NMLR meetings highlighting key issues and status of departmental KPI's
* Ensuring that lessons learned from previous product launches are managed and addressed throughout the VB & launch build phases



WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
* Broad experience and understanding of Electrical systems and Architecture including Software (inc. Cybersecurity), Networks, Diagnostics, Hardware & EDS.
* Planning and co-ordinating pre-build software test and validation including the ability to analyse test results as well as track, report & escalate issues identified accordingly.
* Knowledge and ability to use JLR diagnostic tools (i.e., Corvus, CANanalyser, Snapshot tool) to interrogate and analyse vehicle diagnostic data.
* Understanding of software release (IVS) and integration processes
* An understanding of manufacturing (Build and Off-track) processes including VCATS (inc. EOL/Rigs/WAHA)
* Experience of using JLR WERS system and issue management tools (5F, AIMs, RTC, JIRA).
* Competent with tools and techniques relating to robust problem resolution (i.e., 8D & 6 Sigma).
* Proven ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments as well as having the ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
* Drive and motivation to achieve goals of team and self with minimal supervision.
* Flexibility to travel and work from all UK JLR manufacturing sites including travel to Graz & Nitra when required.

* Clean full driving licence


Desirable:
* Previous experience of new vehicle launch activity or PVT
* Experience of working in an Agile / framework environment.
* Trained to Class 3 / Advanced driving standards
* Proficient using MS Office applications
* Good understanding of field quality data systems & metrics.
