What to expect
As an Electrical Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineer within the Platform Services Group, you will be taking on a role that is critical for delivering the Electrical Vehicle Architecture across multiple present and future Model Years for Jaguar Land Rover. Your focus is within the team that establishes, develops and qualifies the Vehicle Networks to be utilised in the EVA (Electrical Vehicle Architecture).
Within the Platform Services Group you will have the opportunity to work in an Agile Squad, driving the future of innovation in the Automotive Industry. Within the squad you will be responsible for designing in the platform capability and completing the network qualification for Ethernet and FlexRay, these are required to support the PO's and commodity delivery teams to build and deploy their features on the platform
This role will be accountable for developing and defining Physical and DLL (Data Link Layer) Requirements as well as associated wiring and harness requirements for both Ethernet and FlexRay to be utilised in the EVA (Electrical Vehicle Architecture) Platform.
Key Performance Indicators
All content is driven to appropriate maturity by EVA Continuum unit program gateways to support the squads to robustly define the hardware and software platform requirements.
All technologies are qualified and validated in accordance to the EVA North Star principles and design rules.
Physical & DLL requirements and test cases aligned across Network, EDS, Component and Packaging Squads.
Requirements and Test Cases are Authored, Cascaded, Validated and Managed in the agreed JLR tools
Aligned to agile ways of working and JLR Creators code
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Accountable for application across the vehicle of Ethernet and FlexRay Physical, DLL and Wiring/Harness Requirements
Responsible for Identifying, documenting and validating the capability and constraints of the Technology and communicating these across the business.
Responsible for Leading the Physical Automotive Ethernet qualification activities inc Commercial
Responsible for Authoring & Maintaining Physical, DLL and Wiring/Harness Requirements for FlexRay and Ethernet in design tools such as Dassault Requirements Manager (TRM)
Responsible for Authoring & Maintaining Physical, DLL and Wiring/Harness Test Cases for FlexRay and Ethernet in tools such as Atlassian Jira
Responsible for coordinating with the ECU owners on application and validation of the established requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Understanding of network technologies.
Understanding of Automotive Ethernet and associated interface communication protocols and physical layer requirements.
Ability to manage a large number of internal and external stakeholders and help them to work collaboratively.
Proven ability to deliver large complex electrical system design or Network Application projects on time with high quality.
A mind for improvement of process and a drive to understand and overcome challenges.

Background in Network or Component Design
Proven ability to make financial forecasts for new technology developments and manage associated budgetary spend.
Understanding of FlexRay and associated interface communication protocols and physical layer requirements.
A high level of IT literacy and desire to continue to learn new data tools and skills.
