Job description:

WHAT TO EXPECT
The position has responsibility for managing and enacting finance administration. Working closely with technology and design protection staff, the role assists to identify spending requirements and gains the necessary approvals from Finance and Purchasing functions. The position also has responsibility for reporting spend and calculating future spend projections.

You will be responsible for:
* Raising and managing monthly Purchase Orders using SAP to ensure sufficient cover is available
* Calculating and co-ordinating finance requests and dealing with any queries that arise
* Reviewing invoices and obtaining necessary approvals
* Dealing with any supplier queries relating to finance
* Monitoring patent office deposit accounts and raising manual payment requests as and when required
* Managing credit card payments
* Raising invoice requests in line with license agreements
* Calculating monthly accrual figures for finance
* Preparing statement of work documentation and additional formalities to meet purchasing requirements
* Compiling payments schedules for inventor awards, and dealing with any related queries
* Producing spend reports for budget holders within the department to track spend
* Carrying out tenders on suppliers to secure competitive rates
* Spend analysis and forecasting future spend based on current activities



WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
* Solid understanding of finance administration
* Demonstrable communication skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Proficient in Excel
* Excellent analytical skills
* Ability to present and explain clear and concise information to a variety of stakeholders


Desirable:
* Basic finance qualifications e.g. AAT
* Experience of using SAP and ITESoft
