  • Technical Project Management and facilitation skills in order to manage interdependencies and differing priorities and needs between multi-functional teams, resolving and diffusing arising conflicts and providing direction. Plus challenging the assumptions and costs proposed, ensuring they are robust, coherent and justifiable.
  • Strong interpersonal and well-developed communication skills (written & verbal), both internally and working with the customer, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
  • Complementary experience and knowledge from the defence (or similar complex engineering) industry, broad engineering disciplines and/or bidding activities.
  • Passionate about Export and winning new business, willing to work under pressure to meet demanding bid timescales and to travel if required.

What's in it for you?
  • Developing and winning New Business is fundamental to MBDA's DNA and future success.
  • You will work closely with the Sales organisation, providing the project ‘face' to the export market.
  • You will gain experience in generating the most effective solution for each proposed customer, liaising with each of the project Engineering Leads to create the fully costed proposal and ensuring a deliverable, technically compliant solution.
  • The Bid team explain and justify the proposal and cost base at varying levels of company technical, programmatic and financial review to obtain timely approval for release. In doing so, you take responsibility for the engineering solution and have the opportunity for exposure to senior company board members in the process.
  • Manage engineering assessments and concept studies of varying length, complexity and scope. Working with a broad range of engineering, to mature conceptual and strategic developments to the Sea Ceptor product to meet increasing Customer capability needs.
