Job description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Infrastructure Team within the DAG is a centralised technical support team to all departmental and functional teams, responsible for; Data, including sourcing, distribution, storage, retention and achieving. Systems, software, and hardware procurement, validation, deployment, and maintenance (in alignment with core business function). In addition to local inventory asset management and first level user support across supported functional teams.
As an Infrastructure and Data Specialist, you will be responsible for the delivery of assigned activities and tasks as assigned and undertaken by the team, working in close alignment with the internal customer teams, under direction from senior team members and local management. Maintaining and nurturing all key stakeholder and customer relationships and contributing to the overall strategic development and delivery of the department.
The Infrastructure and Data Specialist will also be required to support the development of our current and future capabilities and toolsets, aligned to departmental functional and wider business transformation, and strategic imperatives. Driving positive change across our activities, ensuring maximised operational effectiveness and efficiency, and a first-class service and experience for our customers and stakeholders.


KEY ACCOUNTABILLITIES & RESPONSIBILLITIES

Data Logistics - centralised service to all internal customer teams and supplier base for sourcing and distribution of varying data sources (i.e. geometric CAD, non-geometric technical data/design intent etc) aligned to programme delivery and cycle plan
Data Security - maximise data security centrally, through management and maintenance of standardised and optimised systems for storage, process and ways of working and data retention/achieving
IT Standards/Alignment - support of centralised management of all systems/hardware/software portfolio across functional teams, working in direct alignment with varying business functions (i.e. Digital, Purchasing, Finance etc) to manage portfolio. From customer requirement definition, through procurement, implementation, UaT validation, and maintenance.
Asset Control - support of first level customer support across functional teams, ensuring all asset inventory, lifecycle and requirements align to user needs
Identify issues impacting delivery against agreed programme plan and technical projects and escalate for resolution
Identify opportunities to improve the way we work across our teams and support these initiatives
Actively shares knowledge across teams
Undertake any other work as directed by the management in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

KNOWLESGE SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
Experience of automotive virtual design and engineering CAD processes
Experience in CAD authoring and PLM solutions and IT integration or engineering projects
Experience in data / file management, structuring and configuration
Experience in working to defined processes and technical standards (pipeline)
Knowledge of MS Excel and associated Visual Basic Automation
Good planning and organising skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
