This role is responsible to lead the definition, development and delivery of harmonised solutions for Body Access Systems, consisting of multiple interconnected electro-mechanical components, into Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Feature owner for Body Access Systems; Accountable for creating, maintaining and developing the Body Access Systems Feature Statement of Intent(s) and statement of capabilities. Leading the strategy and roll out of the features.
* Accountable for creating, maintaining and developing Functional Architecture working in collaboration with System Leaders and sub system leaders.
* Work with System Leaders and Domain architects to ensure system design is coherent with the architecture and interfaces are agreed.
* Creation of the logical architectures for Access systems to deliver the best customer experience.
* Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Customer, Function Requirements and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
* Demonstrate the robustness by extensive use of ‘unified' modelling (from feature to sub-system level)
* Contribute to the delivery of the area onto all programmes, in line with the Systems Engineering discipline outlined by Product Creation Systems
* Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to feature and system design and integration/validation; guiding delivery of a robust V&V design
* Accountable for day to day management of a small team of system engineers
* Accountable for developing and publishing the functional systems engineering artefacts as defined by the QMS process
* Responsible for leading system robustness projects across own functional area and across product engineering


Knowledge and experience

* Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - within automotive or another technical industry
* Experience in leading Systems Engineering projects and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
* Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, risk assessments, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
* Experience of mechatronic and electronic control systems - within automotive or another technical industry
* Experience using SysML and Matlab/Simulink for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
* Experience in TRM and associated software tools.
* Experience in network architecture design / communication networks
* Experience in IBM Rational DOORS
* Requirements management

* Analytical and problem solving skills
* Track record as an effective team leader with strong interpersonal skills
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience
