WHAT TO EXPECT
Jaguar Land Rover are recruiting for a brand new role within our Supply Chain department. The Supply Chain Supplier Development Manager is responsible for the strategic plan that continuously improves Jaguar Land Rover's Logistics supply chain standards, ensuring innovative supply chain solutions are adopted to drive efficiency and cost optimisation across all operations. Key accountabilities include assessing supply chain feasibility on critical commodities to provide sourcing recommendations and ensuring supplier adherence to Jaguar Land Rover's supply chain standards prior to new model launch.
The Leadership of Supplier Development Engineers that are responsible for:
Sourcing & Launch readiness of supply base in line with supply chain standardsContinuous improvement of Jaguar Land Rover's supply chain to deliver efficiency and cost optimisation across all logistics operationsLeadership and management of tier 1 supplier / 3PL sequencing solutions for all Jaguar Land Rover plants
A key responsibilty in this role is the development of key strategic relationships with JLR Purchasing and STA management to ensure that all sourcing & industralisation activities are aligned, liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and the supplier base to ensure the team deliver project objectives on time and representing the Jaguar Land Rover Supply Chain at all external supplier reviews with STA and Purchasing teams.
YOU WILL NEED
In this role, you will need to have experience of system improvement with manufacturing process as well as leadership experience in multiple logistics disciplines - including Supply Chain Management, Launch, Operations Management, Vehicle Scheduling / Production Control, Logistics Engineering. As a Supply Chain Supplier Development Manager, you will be required to demonstrate the ability to analyse and break down complex, multidimensional problems or processes into its key elements to achieve common goals - as well as showing strong influencing & negotiation skills - ability to lead senior representatives in supplier environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills are important to communicate across all levels, and these should be combined with a confident attitude. Ability to work in a disciplined and controlled manner with high levels of personal organisation and motivation
* Can demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills
* Good understanding of lean production principles
* Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
* Change management skills with the ability to communciate effectively at all levels
