Job Details
Role- Quality Engineer - Labs
To provide local Quality expertise to support internal or external stakeholders of within their specific area, based within a Science and R&D area. Work as part of a cross functional team to deliver improvement through collaboration on projects and programmes.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area
Salary: £33,850-£45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

You will be required to:
- Provide technical guidance and customer support to ensure that deliverables and targets are met.
- To provide local Quality expertise to support numerous internal or external stakeholders of within their specific area. Work as part of a cross functional team to deliver improvement through collaboration on projects and programmes.
- Attend design/technical/task reviews, defect reviews and stakeholder meetings as required to ensure Quality is represented.
- Control of inspection/calibration/reporting and processes, to ensure Quality delivery is maintained.
- Engagement with relevant stakeholders across AWE, the UK and our international partners.
- Maintenance and enhancement of own skills, knowledge, and capabilities necessary to support both current and future work programmes. Identify areas of continuous improvement to promote and enhance Quality capability.
To be successful in this role you should have some the following skills:
- Relevant HNC/HND or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- Tools to deliver superior performance in a manner that achieves commitment and buy-in Influencing and stakeholder and relationship management skills, and collaborative working with a broad cross section of customers, suppliers, and functions
- Good knowledge of the national and international standards for quality and business management systems.
- Basic Project Management knowledge.
- Customer satisfaction and the tools and processes utilised in measuring business performance and delivery.
- Good understanding of configuration and change management techniques.
- Understanding of improvement techniques, such as Lean, Six Sigma, RLI, etc.
- Good depth and breadth of knowledge within their technical field.
All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
