AWE currently has opportunities for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support a fast-paced Operational Trials delivery area and the Orion Laser Facility, to conduct and deliver electrical operations safely, within the Engineering and Science function and Trials & Test Technology Centre.
Location - Reading area (On-Site role)
Salary - £42,650 - £60,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

What will you be responsible for?
Delivery of conceptual designs, detailed designs, manufacturing specifications, operational documentation, and validation evidence for electrical engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements.
Lead SME for all electrical systems within a defined boundary of responsibility.
Leading and advising electrical engineers in the delivery of innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
Liaise with electrical contractors & AWE stakeholders.
Performing the role of Senior Authorised Person (Electrical Specialist).
A high level of technical knowledge to be able to apply engineering principles in order to analyse and design electrical systems.
Understanding regulations and ensuring that projects comply with regulations & industry standards.
Producing high quality reports and presentations on capability metrics.
Making evidence based professional engineering decisions to solve technical problems within your area of responsibility.
We have roles available for both Senior Authorised Engineers and Deputy Senior Authorised Engineers, depending on your level of experience. We are keen to hear from those with a strong electrical background who can demonstrate a high level of technical understanding coupled with knowledge of relevant regulations.
What will you need to be considered?
Proven experience of delivering projects with a consideration for quality, time and cost.
Strong communication skills (written and oral).
Previous experience presenting reports, designs and data at all levels would be desirable.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Excel.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
