Mechatronic Engineer (Antenna Division)

Are you a Mechatronics Engineer looking for your next challenge?  Do you want to work for a business where quality is key and custom engineering is at the heart of everything we do? How about working for a company that is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of antenna systems, rugged portable and industrial embedded computing, custom lithium battery packs, and secure communication systems.  Interested?  Then read on!

Steatite Limited are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our Antennas team, based in Leominster, Herefordshire to lead development of ruggedised, multi-axis antenna positioner systems. Our 15,000 sq ft facility in Leominster is dedicated to design, production and qualification of antennas and antenna systems, and houses state-of art engineering design, fabrication, and testing facilities.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.  You will be able to lead the electronic and mechanical design and development tasks for our growing range of bespoke antenna positioner systems, ensuring that customer specifications are met. Working both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be flexible in your approach whilst having outstanding attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

It would be great if you had experience of designing systems for harsh environments including military and/or defence applications; however, this is not essential.  What is essential is your excellent communication skills which will enable you to work closely with RF, mechanical, environmental and test engineers as well as sales and production staff.  You will be proficient in the use of all MS office software as well as applicable engineering tools.  We need you to be able to seek out evolving and innovative ways to add value, be driven to deliver and be a completer, finisher.

So, in return for all of this, what can we offer you?

A competitive salary between £30,000 - £50,000 per annum, 25 days holiday plus public holidays, access to Westfield Healthcare scheme, a discretionary bonus and enrolment into our Employee Share scheme after 12 months.  As well as all of that, you will be working in a progressive, forward thinking business that has an eye firmly on expansion and growth, with products and technology that can be found in applications from the ocean floor to the edge of space!

If you have an enthusiasm to make a difference and expertise in electronic and mechanical design, we could be the next successful step in your career.
