About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow (Waterloo Street or Eurocentral)

Salary: £33,945 - £39,463 + a range of benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

As part of a growing data team, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the growth of SSEs commercial insights capability & driving a data-led culture. As a data analyst you will work closely with users and stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met through our data service offerings and support effective commercial decision making. You will be responsible for creating, managing & developing a suite of insights tools, including dashboards and KPIs, and developing the teams reputation as a trusted partner within the Procurement & Commercial department.

- Lead the ongoing delivery & optimisation of regular business reports & KPIs

- Deliver high quality of customer service & data outputs to users & stakeholders to maintain trust and credibility of data function.

- Support transition from legacy data management tools to new cloud-based solutions including PowerBI.

- Lead delivery of data capability programme to stakeholders, including creation, maintenance of materials.

- Support ongoing delivery of insights roadmap which looks to help understand our users better and help develop bespoke insights dashboards specific to their needs, utilising both internal & external sources of data to provide effective solutions.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Data analysis and synthesis - You can apply analytical techniques to present an effective data solution for end-users.
  • Communication - You demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.
  • Data management - You can understand data sources, data organisation and storage.
  • Data visualisation - You can interpret requirements and present data in a clear and compelling way, using graphical representations and data visualisations. Experience using PowerBI would be beneficial.
  • Logical and creative thinking - You can apply logic and creativity to approach a problem.
  • Experience working as an analyst within a procurement/commercial environment (preferable)
