Principal Electrical Engineer - Rail

Location: Swindon and hybrid working

Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, is one of the world's leading rail engineers, and our Rail business is the largest in Europe. For experienced electrical engineers, some recent significant E&P CP7 framework wins in the Wales and Western region mean a world of opportunity for your career.

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious discipline lead, who will initially work closely with clients to deliver high quality electrical designs, and then grow and lead a brand-new regional M&E team.

Our strong and geographically diverse pipeline will give you the opportunity to establish strong technical client relationships whilst developing your leadership skills, balancing electrical design delivery with supporting the engineering management team.

You'll need:

  • Previous rail industry experience and appropriate qualifications
  • Experience of managing multidisciplinary projects and proven knowledge of rail design assurance processes
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the use of BS7671
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills and a can-do attitude, particularly including client engagement.

You won’t need team management experience as our market-leading training and development programmes will ensure you have everything you need to flourish and thrive in the role.

Naturally, some occasional travel and working from other Atkins and client site locations in the UK is necessary, and we’d hope that you would join your team as it grows in our Swindon office for c3 days every week.

Come and join a friendly and diverse team that will support you in shaping your career as you design a better future. Apply for the role via the Apply button.
