If you’ve got big aspirations, our organisation will provide the tools to help you grow, learn, and achieve extraordinary things. That’s why we say, your ambition leads here.

About us

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) is an integral part of UK Defence. We equip and support the UK’s Armed Forces as they protect our way of life, at home and overseas. As part of this, we procure the newest protective clothing for the frontline. We also create smarter tech for intelligence systems. And we make safer, more effective vehicles for land, sea and air. Engineering is the largest business function in our organisation – and it’s one of the most fulfilling too. Because it’s only by delivering the most advanced, battle-winning technology that we can keep those on the front line at the top of their game. That’s why we stay inventive and create positive change, with a strong focus on sustainable sourcing and minimising environmental impact too. Ready to make an impact that matters to the nation?

About the role

If you’re looking for a job that really makes a difference, you’ll find that here at DE&S. You’ll join our Internal Technical Support team, with the chance to provide support on a variety of projects from combat aircraft and armoured vehicles to submarines, body armour and aircraft carriers. Joining this team, you’ll become a ‘go to’ expert, helping us manage safety risks across a breadth of high-profile projects.

As you’ll discover, we’re serious about your continued professional development, and we’ll keep investing in your skills throughout your career with us.

About you

To be successful in your application, you must hold a minimum Level 4 qualification (e.g. Higher National Certificate) or above in an engineering or science subject, or have the equivalent demonstrable industry experience,. You’ll also have experience using a range of safety tools and techniques, to provide advice and guidance on complex projects. If you have experience in the development and writing of safety artefacts in support of completing safety bodies of evidence, you’ll be ticking all our boxes.
