Base Location: One of our SSEN offices or depots around our Southern Network area which includes; Reading, Oxford, Swindon, Portsmouth, Yeovil.
Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available
SSEN is looking to recruit a Senior Communication and Engagement Manager in our Southern License area. The primary purpose of the role is to develop, implement and report on the Communication and Engagement Delivery Plans supporting key business change programmes within Customer Operations, undertaking effective engagement that supports the delivery of the South Electric Power Distribution (SEPD) Customer Operations operating model.
In undertaking this role, the Communication and Engagement Manager is required to undertake cross-business co-ordination and leadership within Distribution such that all staff are supportive of, and active participants in key behavioural change programmes.
- Design, plan and execute internal communications and engagement strategy aligned to our high-profile projects that have large scale impact on our employee experience.
- Create and deliver a rhythm of regular engagement sessions that are interactive and provide opportunities for two-way conversations and supports delivery of key programme milestones.
- Influence key stakeholders on communication best practice and be a leading voice to champion our effective and engaging communication strategies.
- Identify opportunities for improving standards and tactics through analysis of employee sentiment data.
- Provide regular reports to the functional Directors on activity along with recommendations to improve the quality of engagement activity.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A demonstrable knowledge and experience of developing, implementing and maintaining engagement delivery plans and supporting communication strategies.
- Experience as similar communications manager or engagement manager including the delivery of engagement and communications strategies supporting behavioural change, strategic business improvement and transformation.
- Analytical and problem solving, able to consider the 'bigger picture' and long-term goals in assessing an issue and recommending a solution.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage internally across all levels of the business and externally with the broad stakeholder community.
- A demonstrable understanding of the energy or utility sector.
