Location: Hillend - Fife

Salary: Up to £58,000

What you'll be doing:

    Independent review and assessment of project safety processesCapture product safety and product environmental requirementsPrepare and manage Project Safety and Environmental Management Plans to ensure that product safety is managed in a cost effective mannerUndertake/lead Hazard identification, analysis, and reviewUndertake hazard log managementAnalyse product safety risk and its mitigationPerform safety review of designs, and verifying safety requirementsConstruct safety arguments/justificationsSupport Product Safety & Environmental CommitteesAdvising design certificate authorisers with independent safety assurance

Your skills and experiences:

    Experience of reviewing and assuring Safety Cases and Safety Arguments / Safety Justifications / Safety Case Reports in the application of military standards for safety and environmental managementA proven track record in the application of hazard identification, analysis and safety risk assessment techniques and creation of Safety Cases and ReportsA sound understanding of Safety & Environmental Legislation and Standards and the requirements of DEF STAN 00-056, DEF STAN 00-051 including earlier issues of 00-56The safety aspects of legislative compliance with various UK Products Legislation for UK CA Marking, and the equivalent EU Directives and Regulations, e.g. LVD, EMC and RED for EU CE marking (including various means of compliance such as DEF STAN 59-411, BS EN 62368-1, etc.)

The Product Safety Team:

Would you like to play a key role within product safety, carrying out tasks required to support the design authority for one or multiple projects?

As an Independent Product Safety Engineer, you will be supporting the projects' technical authorities in their generation of safety engineering deliverables and activities.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects that can enable career development. There is also an opportunity to travel between a range of sites to carry out scopes of work.
