About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness

Salary: £44,100- £66,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Our Procurement and Commercial team are responsible for helping the business to procure services and materials in a timely and cost-effective way. We work right across the SSE Group, ensuring our businesses gets the best possible service and value from our supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business need.

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission have an increased programme of projects as we deliver a network for Net Zero. As part of this programme we require to engage with a variety of supply chain contractors to work on a portfolio of projects. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we require to monitor, control and report on all matters regarding the supply chain.

Working within the Supply Chain team, as the Contract Manager (Supply Chain Support Contracts) you will be expected to take a lead role in the coordination and fulfilment of all pre-contract procurement activities. You will also be required to manage a variety of post-contract requirements including Supplier Relationship Management, Framework Management, reviewing capacity and workload, and engage/coordinate between project team and category management teams.

You will support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance. You will also work with the Procurement and Commercial Managers and their teams to ensure that current market intelligence is provided on the supply chain, costs, manufacturing periods, risks etc.

You will comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance. You will also support the Director of Procurement in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers.



What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Understanding and application of procurement requirements within a regulated environment, supply chain demand planning and relationship management.

- Knowledge of relevant statutory and legal provisions and detailed knowledge of Company procurement and commercial policies and procedures.

- Highly numerate with experience of interpreting numerical data & experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts with and understanding of the supply chain and how to improve it.

- Sufficient management reporting and presentation skill are required in addition to IT skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, Oracle Purchasing Systems. Being able to operate within a team and interact with colleagues is another key attribute required.
