About the Role

Base Location: Perth / Glasgow / Edinburgh

Salary: Circa £55,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

Working alongside the existing Treasury Accountant you will be jointly responsible for all the accounting requirements of the Treasury function which includes its responsibilities to the SSE Group but also to a number of JV's for which SSE provide Treasury services.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of the monthly Treasury accounting, period end closing, budget and forecast and ten-year model updates, adherence to accounting policies, half and full year reporting and the delivery of monthly reporting information for inclusion in the Board report and for use by the wider Finance functions.

The Treasury Accountants are also responsible for providing accounting advice / recommendations for any funding exercise or derivative transaction that the Group may be considering to ensure the accounting treatment is efficient and adheres to accounting policies.

The Treasury Accountants take a lead role in several Finance Transformation projects ensuring any changes to existing Treasury processes are clear and understood and play a part in the Treasury functions improved efficiency.

Liaising with Business Partners and Finance Managers on a regular basis to provide updates and advice on a number accounting matters relating to Treasury activities. Also interacting with various areas of the business to understand the impact of material transactions that will impact Treasury and the wider business.

What do I need?

Fully qualified accountant with up to 3+ years Post Qualified Experience in an operational finance role with exposure to issues of similar complexity.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Excellent knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / new UK GAAP, Hedge Accounting, Companies Acts, Regulatory Licences etc.

- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.

- Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel).

- Knowledge of SSE equivalent systems, processes and workflow technology.

- In depth knowledge of ERP software (Oracle desirable).
