Would you like to use your skills to play a key role in electro-explosive systems? AWE's Explosives Science area are seeking an Electrical/Electronic Technician with an interest in working with electro-explosive and high voltage systems. A background in explosives and high voltage is not required, but experience of both analogue and digital electronic systems is key.

Location - Reading/ Basingstoke area
Package - £33,300.00 - £42,000.00 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Applying your expertise, your work will focus on the deployment, maintenance, and support of electrical systems, enabling our scientists work on the development and characterisation of electro-explosive devices. You will manage and conduct the installations of analogue and digital electrical systems, including developing safe systems of work, interfacing with facilities, sourcing components and materials, and reporting results.
To be successful in the role, it is desirable that you can demonstrate the following:
A recognised qualification in Electronics or another relevant technical field
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience within industry.
Previous experience of being involved in the design of electronic circuits and interfacing of various electronic systems to meet customer needs
Experience of electrical testing on electronic circuits, understanding and experience in the use of standard test equipment such as multimeters and function generators etc
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, excellent team working ability, proactive, and highly organised
Experience in hazardous voltage (mains and high voltage) is desirable
Maintaining and promote high standards in ESH (Environmental, safety & health), security and quality
Instruction in best practice to other team members
Contribute to the production and delivery of technical reports and presentations
Contribute to the delivery of the system from concept to realisation
Support the progress of designs through product lifecycle
Willing to travel and work at other UK and overseas Sites as required
All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in explosives designated areas.
