IT Project Manager (Software Engineering Environments)
Salary: up to £65,000 (doe) + bonus + benefits
Hybrid working pattern : Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working. This role is mostly office based, but there are opportunities to work from home (split is roughly 4 days a week in the office, 1 day at home)

We are looking for a bold individual that enjoys a challenge!
This role will involve a large remit to modernise and support the Infrastructure, network and environments critical to the success of software delivery within MBDA. Software Engineering have their own dedicated environment which needs to be led, modernised and governed, meeting modern security demands. This will be achieved through working with our internal customers and running projects from conception to delivery.
The role is not a ‘ hands-on and expected to be fiddling with individual machines ' type role. The Environments Manager will be expected over time to align our environments (network & infrastructure) with the future direction of Software Engineering and the wider business.
What we're looking for from you:
- Experience having run large enterprise IT projects previously
- Worked closely with other customers when delivering large IT projects
- Do you have an understanding of Software development needs within a network?
- An understanding of network security being applied to an enterprise network
- Experience of implementing and maintaining network governance policies
Nice to have but not crucial!
- An understanding of delivering into on-prem cloud type infrastructure
- Worked with delivery of infrastructure directly benefitting software engineering teams
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Experience of ITSM software and its benefit
What to expect:
- Become the owner for Software Engineering (SE) IT projects, responsible from project creation to delivery.
- Gathering of requirements for future projects from within Software Engineering
- Working to keep Software Engineering environments relevant and suitable to SE needs
- Work with Software teams to derive requirements for environment needs and turn into projects
- Evolution of Software Engineering environments to stay relevant and providing a crucial up to date capability for SE
- Work with IM (corporate IT) and InfoSec to deliver the Software engineering environment projects
- Ownership and responsibility for the evolution of the Software Engineering network moving from a traditional network to an internal on-prem cloud based development network.
- Digitisation and implementation of efficient workflows, governance and policy processes within SE
- Be the voice of SE when interacting with the wider business on environments, able to influence and articulate SE needs.
- Working with the Labs team to ensure compliance of our labs critical to software delivery.
- Having a well-rounded understanding and reporting of all projects that are driven by Software or effect software.
