AWE is currently recruiting for a Team Leader to lead the Modelling team within the Systems Group in Materials and Analytical Science (MAS).
This role offers an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to step up into a leadership role, a change of leadership role, or those looking to develop their people leadership skills and gain an insight into materials sciences.

Salary: £41,950 - £66,250 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)
Location: Reading

The team of scientists and mathematicians provide modelling analysis and assessment to a range of customers. The details of the Team Leader role can be summarised as providing line management to a dynamic team delivering:
Lifetime ageing predictive models
System Life prediction via approved Baseline models
Mathematical and Statistical models
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Computational Chemistry Assessments of Materials and Processes
Design of Experiments
Data Science
The role offers an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop their people leadership skills and gain an insight into Systems and Materials Modelling. As a people focused role, knowledge of the technical area is beneficial but not essential.
We would be interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate knowledge or experience in some of the following:
Degree in Science or Maths or equivalent work experience
Confident with building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
Effective multi-task working, identify and manage priorities and work to challenging timescales
Strong computer skills
Proven experience of managing staff
Ability to work with others collaboratively in a team setting
Knowledge of a technical or scientific subject
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role
