As the Group's Digital Communications Manager, you'll be responsible for building a focused digital advocacy programme across group channels, leveraging the expertise across SSE to champion the clean energy transition and deliver the group's strategic priorities. Key audiences include policymakers and investors and channels include LinkedIn, Twitter and SSE.com so we'll need you to have a detailed knowledge of social media platforms, web management with content management systems and a strong understanding of SEO.

Base Location: Flexible UK, however our preference is that you will be based in Glasgow.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

This is a great opportunity to join a growing company in an important industry and make a meaningful difference to the business and society. As Group Digital Communications Manager, you will play a significant role in championing clean energy and building support for the group's Net Zero-focused strategy. You'll showcase the diverse range of projects the business is currently working on from building the world's biggest offshore wind farm to transforming electricity grids and pioneering new technologies like carbon capture and hydrogen storage.

You'll report to and be supported by the Group's Head of Media & Digital but this role comes with a high degree of autonomy with the successful candidate expected to create and drive delivery of the group's digital communications strategy. You'll lead a small team but work in collaboration with SSE's brand and design function and business unit communications teams.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

- Developing a digital communications strategy.

- Identifying and targeting relevant audiences.

- Executing an effective digital advocacy programme.

- Testing and learning to support continuous improvement.

- Working with colleagues across the group to share best practice.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Outstanding experience in digital communications - either through journalism, government/politics, in-house or in an agency.

- Demonstrable experience of digital advocacy campaigns that build support among target audiences.

- Excellent writing, editing and communications skills.

- A detailed knowledge of mainstream social media platforms, web management/experience with content management systems and a strong understanding of SEO.

- Experience advising senior leaders on how to communicate their vision and narratives in a way that positively impacts reputation.

- Excellent management skills with the ability to influence and engage people up, down, and across the organisation.
