About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen.

Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE has an exciting opportunity for a Group SHE Support Manager to ensure consistency across group services in the design, implementation, communication and coordination of all Safety, Health and Environmental matters. In this key role, you'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain SHE documentation which ensures safe outcomes for our people, contractors and the environment. You'll be responsible for:

- Contributing to the design and delivery of SSE's overall SHE strategy as well as supporting Group business units to achieve a culture change in relation to behavioural safety.

- Sharing best practice on the effective implementation and development of the SHE Management System including procedures and guidance.

- Identifying and implementing continual improvements, including managing resources to ensure successful delivery of key SHE projects.

- Evaluating SHE performance for compliance and assurance purposes, including any regulatory changes. Supporting development of and adherence to the risk based SHE audit programme.

- Providing incident management and support, liaising with enforcement bodies and communicating lessons learned to stakeholders.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Broad knowledge of SHE regulations in the UK and Ireland.

- Extensive experience of working in a high hazard industry such as construction, thermal, offshore or petrochemical industry supported by an industry relevant qualification.

- Detailed knowledge of risk assessment techniques, audit, and assurance in relation to SHE.

- Experience working with SHE Management System policies and strategies within an asset intensive engineering environment.

- Great IT skills and some experience with writing papers and presentations to Board level.
