Salary: £38,073 - £44,257 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

Due to significant growth within SSE Transmission and our strategy to develop in-house modelling support, we are looking for an Assistant CAD Engineer to provide support to our CAD team who work on a wide range of projects as we strive towards net-zero.

They key responsibilities of this role are:

- Support the team with design and drafting on our HV substation projects.

- Develop substation layout drawings, schematics, diagrams, maps and other documentation as required, on time and to requisite standards.

- Support with document control within the CAD team.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.

- Knowledge and understanding of HV substation design and an understanding/use of maps and geo-referencing would be favourable.

- Strong organisational skills for managing drawing registers, revision control and supporting implementation of BIM solutions.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with minimum supervision.

- Experience of working in a technical role within a client or contracting organisation within the UK electricity supply industry.

- An understanding/experience of the capabilities of other Autodesk products within the AEC collection and Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360 would be beneficial.
