The E&I Support Engineer will help drive SGN’s realization of modernisation in the future of energy through supporting initiatives such as H100 and biomethane, so come join a team of forward thinkers.

As an E&I Support Engineer you will be part of a diverse team responsible for the management of network assets, with the role being focused on the instrumentation across the whole gas network in Scotland.

The E&I Support Engineer is responsible for a wide range of workstreams with supporting our team and the wider SGN community at it’s heart. The work will include but not be limited to; asset management, audits & compliance checks, management of process safety systems, supporting operational and policy decisions e.g., through document writing and review.

What will you be doing day to day?

  • Maintaining SGN asset compliance.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders for network assets.
  • Researching and reviewing information for stakeholders.
  • Providing support/responses to asset queries to our colleagues (intra and interdepartmental).
  • Using various computer systems and software packages.
  • Travelling to sites across Scotland.  

What you’ll need

  • We are looking to add an active member to our team who can work cohesively and autonomously.
  • The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience or have graduated in the following disciplines:
  • Control and Instrumentation.
  • Electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Any other relevant field.  

We’re also looking for;

  • A great communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Someone that can demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving.
