Base Location: Flexible UK & Ireland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.
Salary: £72,500 - £108,700 + car allowance + performance-related bonus and a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?
The Senior Programme Delivery Manager will be responsible for delivery of our Cyber Resilience plan for our Operational Technology. Our plan consists of more than 20 projects and will total over £30m in the ED2 regulatory review period. The role will matrix manage OT Security Engineers working on the projects, and directly manage the PMO and the project managers delivering the various projects. The project managers are expected to be contractors.
They will be responsible for using the best practice methodologies for their programme and ensuring effective control over costs and resourcing enabling the delivery of business outcomes. Key to the role is to manage the operational aspects of the delivery teams involved, ensuring risk, legal, security and other compliance requirements are met.
The Senior Programme Delivery Manager will be accountable for realising the objectives, key results and other value targets defined as part of the Programme and must have the ability to be adaptable to meet changing business environments.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to a programme of activity, ensuring it is managed and delivered in a way that enables the benefits that were agreed at the initiation of the programme.
- Establish and maintain highly effective relationships with multiple delivery teams involved in the delivery of the programme, stakeholders at all levels and business teams to ensure that the output from the Programme is understood and delivered in a way that meets and exceeds expectations.
- Ensure successful transition to service, ensuring change lands well and meets business needs.
- Where relevant, management of 3rd parties, reviewing their performance, ensuring alignment with SSE ways of working and values acting as a routine contact point between organisation and supplier.
- To ensure reporting information is accurately captured in support of portfolio governance, Regulatory Reporting and reporting to the competent authorities under the NIS Regulations.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Have strong technical knowledge in operational technology and/or cyber security to provide delivery teams with support and guidance.
- Degree level education; ideally skilled in a number of Project / Programme Management approaches e.g. Agile, Prince2, PMP, APM.
- Demonstrable experience of running successful programmes - comprised of multiple delivery teams using different development processes, including but not limited to DevOps, Scrum, Kanban and lean development.
- Ability to provide leadership and focus for the delivery teams, building strong capability and creating an environment that supports SSE's Vision and Values, whilst encouraging innovation.
- Experience of having shaped business cases and delivering tangible benefits to an organisation with the ability to articulate value delivered in a non-technical way.
