About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK; Cardiff, Reading, Poole, Leeds, Motherwell or Perth

Salary: £44,195 - £50,611 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

We are looking for a CAD Technician who has knowledge of the utilities sector and experience of 2D & 3D AEC Autodesk applications to provide CAD drawings for electrical networks, substation designs and legal drawings ensuring smooth delivery of services to live electric projects.

You'll be working closely with the wider design and delivery teams to ensure projects run smoothly from conception to construction.

Your main duties will be;

- To provide modelling, design and drafting support on assigned projects to develop and optimise electrical layouts to SSE Networks specifications and requirements.

- To be involved in project options, development assessments and conceptual designs.

- To be a main point of contact for all graphical representation works.

- Develop models, drawings, schematics, diagrams and other documentation as required, on time and to requisite standards.

To be brilliant in this role we would love you to bring;

- Experience working in computer aided drafting or related field using 2D & 3D AEC Autodesk applications (Primarily AutoCAD), drawing registers and revision control.

- Overall knowledge of CAD customisation abilities and understanding of CAD libraries/tool palettes and best practice. Be proficient in AutoCAD and any experience in other drafting packages would also be favourable.

- Knowledge and understanding of Electrical design.

- Team player, able to work with colleagues at all levels and within multi-functional teams.

- Flexible regarding work routine, able to work on a wide range of projects without sacrificing quality of delivery and progression of projects in a timely manner.

An understanding of SSE Networks, Utilities Networks, and Energy industry would also be advantageous.
