LEAD STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced structural design engineer to lead our dynamic structural engineering team. The successful candidate will have 10 years’ experience including structural design across multiple sectors such as heavy industry, mining and materials handling. Prior consulting experience would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Structural Engineering team in the provision of engineering design and asset integrity services
• Ensuring services are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant codes and regulatory standards
• Performing hands-on engineering investigations, analysis and assessments
• Reviewing and signing-off designs and associated documentation prepared by other team members
• Proactively coordinating and managing project scopes of work, budgets and delivery schedules
• Preparing cost estimates and proposals for new opportunities
• Managing relationships with existing clients and developing new business relationships

About You

Most importantly, you are a highly motivated, creative individual who strives for the best outcome for clients in a collaborative environment. You will ideally possess the following:

• Degree qualification in Structural Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia
• Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers
• Comprehensive knowledge and proven technical experience in structural steel and concrete design
• Experience in the application of engineering design guidelines, relevant acts, regulations and standards
• A strong working knowledge with a range of structural design software packages including SpaceGASS
• Superior report writing experience
• Competent in Microsoft 365
• Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Current drivers licence

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – RISK AND FUNCTIONAL SAFETY

We are seeking a senior electrical engineer with at least 5 years’ experience to join our Risk and Functional Safety team. This role will suit an adaptable engineer who has experience in functional safety and risk management and experience in design of control systems. Candidates with TÜV or equivalent qualification in Functional Safety will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conducting technical assessments (e.g. design verifications), functional safety assessments (e.g. SIL determination) and facilitating risk workshops (e.g. HAZOP)
• Preparing assessment documentation and reports with analytical and technical robustness
• Interpreting technical and complex information
• Coordinating project scopes of works, budgets and schedules
• Actively maintaining good relationships with new and existing clients

About You

Most importantly, you are a highly motivated, creative individual who strives for the best outcome for clients in a collaborative environment. You will ideally possess the following:

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, suitable for membership to Engineers Australia
• Demonstrated experience in functional safety, technical analysis, auditing or critical analysis of similar nature
• Experience with manufacturing, mining, heavy industrial or processing plants
• Sound commercial judgement
• Demonstrated high level technical report writing skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to present well to customers
• Effective time management skills
