Are you an experienced Front End Developer or Software Engineer with previous experience of building web based GIS systems? Based within our Leeds Delivery Centre, we have an opportunity to join one of our new project teams, building products and services that help to keep the UK and our people safe.

This position will involve using the latest front-end web technologies, integrating with web geospatial systems to cleanly display GIS information. Along with bringing your past experience of implementing similar systems to the team, you’ll help to deliver cutting-edge, optimised, experiences that look and perform superbly across several platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigating new web technologies.
  • Conducting reviews of supplied requirements and specifications.
  • Solution design and estimation of effort required.
  • Reviewing design and code outputs from colleagues.
  • Shared accountability for engineering best practice within the team.
  • Providing technical expertise to support project delivery and junior colleagues.
  • Communicating with other team members, internal staff, and external clients.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders.

Skills and Experience required
  • Strong experience in web frontend development and integration/implementation of GIS systems
  • Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript including modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and libraries.
  • An understanding of user-experience concepts and visual design concepts
