We are currently seeking an Electrical and Control Engineer Specialist to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As an Electrical and Control Engineer Specialist, you will identify and inspect electrical and electronic control system measures in workplaces, ensuring they achieve compliance with the law.

You will investigate serious incidents (including fatalities), identify the cause, implement preventative measures and, where necessary, support enforcement actions.

Engaging with technical staff and senior members of organisations, you will contribute to intervention strategies and influence organisations to bring about decisive improvements.

Additionally, you will prepare technical reports to support enforcement and legal proceedings and act as a specialist/expert witness at inquests and in Court. 

About You

To be considered as an Electrical and Control Engineer Specialist, you will need:

- Chartered membership with the IET
- Practical electrical and control system engineering experience
- Knowledge of safe systems of work for electrical distribution at both high and low voltage
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, programmable (such as PLCs) and safety-related control systems
- Knowledge of process control equipment and machinery risk assessment, design, installation, testing, maintenance and modification
- The ability to write effective technical reports
- The ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify risk management gaps
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Control Engineering
- A full, valid driving licence
