Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As the Engineering Management Group Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading a multi disciplinary team, managing the electrical, mechanical and structural leads, taking charge of the recruitment, strategy, planning and forecasting for resource demands. You will split your time 50% towards managing the group leads, and 50% carrying out technical work.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Actively promote the Fusion Engineering Unit’s skills and expertise within Integrated Engineering and beyond and help to promote the Group, Unit and Division at all levels.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for UKAEA and UK Plc whilst carrying out duties for internal and external customers.
- Lead the development of an innovation culture within the group.
- Propose, specify and lead projects with highly complex integrated solutions involving multiple disciplines and technical arbitration.
- Use expertise and experience across a range of fields to make, facilitate, present and recommend design trade-off decisions and take pragmatic design risks; which may draw from an outside discipline or are truly novel.
- Define and implement organisational as well as technical improvements, defining and influencing policy and standards in the project engineering discipline area.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- A relevant engineering degree or equivalent.
- Ability to perform exploratory design calculations using first principles.
- Demonstrable delivery experience as part of multi-disciplinary delivery teams and good familiarity with processes used to deliver engineering projects.
