Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: 12 month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

The Commercial function within Business Energy provides a range of reports, dashboards and forecast models for the leadership, finance and operational teams.

The Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS) programme will transition all customers to being settled based on half-hourly interval actual electricity consumption. As a MHHS analyst you will focus on supporting Business Energy navigate the MHHS change by working closely with Commercial stakeholders to understand the underlying impacts and opportunities this change creates.

Your role will include:

- Proactively engaging with key stakeholders across Commercial teams and wider BE to understand the impact of MHHS on the business

- Supporting the Commercial teams to prepare for the MHHS change, with key attention to commercial activities; hedging, pricing and forecasting

- Facilitating meetings, workshops and sessions with affected areas to root out opportunities presented by MHHS

- Investigating the opportunities presented by increased access to actual consumption data, particularly Time of Use tariffs and related product offerings

- Investigating potential customer behavioural change scenarios; looking into the possibility of pilots and proof of concept projects

What do I need?

We're seeking an individual who is commercially savvy and is great at interacting with others, as we're often involved with projects and teams from across Business Energy. To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Strong awareness of the utilities market and an understanding of financial principals, terms and concepts.

- Strong analytical skills and be a numerical problem-solver with experience with data models and forecasting techniques.

- Self-motivated and proactive in hitting objectives.

- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and experience or interest in machine learning models or data science projects.

- Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative discipline is desirable.
