Flight Trials Engineer

Salary: up to £42,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working pattern: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working; typically 3 to 4 days per week on site.

The FASGW Flight Trials engineer will be part of the team small team delivering the key Wildcat flight trials activities being conducted as part of the projects integration programme, consisting of; Functional Air Carriage, Transfer Alignment and Live Firing Trials

• Supporting the preparation, clearing and delivery the FAC, TFA and Firing Trials
• Supporting the Flight Trials Lead in delivering the overall route to trial in line with the overall Joint Enterprise Schedule
• The flight trials team will be responsible for:
• Working with SDAS to develop the requirements and key objectives for the firing trial
• Developing the ISV documentation to facilitate the trials delivery
• Working closely with SDAS and technical functions (GCN, IP, etc - many in France) to mature our analysis tools and criteria and pipe clean them before trials
• Conduct of trials activities - including potential to be trained as telemetry ground station operator (great experience for understanding of telemetry)
• Support in the processing, distribution and top level analysis of firing trials data
• Operating the Filton WIF (weapon integration facility) in support of trials preparation, analysis prep, investigation, etc
