Base Salary: circa £33,000 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?
As an IT graduate joining SSE, you will follow either a generalist or specialist pathway depending on your degree discipline and career aspirations. Generalists will gain exposure across multiple departments throughout the 2-year programme, shaping the programme to suit your individual interests and career goals. Specialists will work with experts in their specialism, gaining exposure within a business area for the duration of their graduate programme which will last 2 years. Both pathways have the aim of providing experience that with lead to a substantive post.
Our graduates work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward. A key principle of the graduate programme is continuous professional development and SSE has built a learning culture where value is placed on learnings that go beyond the immediate task. Throughout the programme, you will have the support of our Graduate Programme Manager and a business mentor, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential.
Corporate IT
We have a huge number of amazing opportunities available for you on the Corporate IT Graduate Scheme working both within IT and out in the wider business.
You could find yourself working in areas such as Data and Analytics, Cyber Security, Agile Dev Ops, Strategy and Transformation, Renewables, Thermal or Enterprise; in roles such as Sustainability Analyst, Data engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Cloud Engineer, Software Engineer, Business Analyst, Service Delivery Partner and many many more. You'll ideally be studying or have graduated in an IT/STEM degree.
These roles can be based in Havant, Reading, Perth or Glasgow
Transmission
SSE IT underpins the technology needs of SSEN Transmission. From emerging technologies to data and analytics to cyber security - we power Transmissions growth and enable it to generate value, while keeping it secure. Working for SSE IT is all about equipping SSE for now and the future.
The control of physical assets that operate the network is referred to as Operational Technology, part of our IT function. It is the hardware, software and firmware components of a system used to detect or cause changes in physical processes through the direct control and monitoring of physical devices (NIST). Every day, our customers and colleagues rely on OT for safe, reliable and efficient transmission of electricity across the north of Scotland. All OT services within the Transmission business are vital in keeping the electricity network stable and secure.
You'll ideally be studying or have graduated with a Computing Science, Cyber Security or Electrical & Electronic Engineering (emphasis on control systems) degree.
These roles can be based in Perth or Cumbernauld.
