Fielding Team Leader
Location: CEA Valduc 45 minutes outside of Dijon, France
Package: £44,990 - £71,110 per annum + plus allowances (depending on your suitability and level of experience)
Closing Date: 05th January 2024
The Role?
The EPURE Fielding Team are responsible for safely conducting hydrodynamic trials at EPURE, capturing the trial's non-radiographic data, and supplying that data to AWE's wider scientific community.
As the trials are over in a fraction of a second, precise setup and confidence in our equipment is key. Our technical operators test our systems and diagnostics, prepare the vessel and device for firing, and arm our systems before giving the go ahead to the Trial Director. After the trial has been completed, the team makes safe, reviews and transfers the trial data, and transfers this to the other EPURE Ops Work Centres.
To contribute successfully to this highly motivated team, you will have the following attributes:
- Excellent leadership qualities, with prior experience leading an effective team.
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Significant experience working with fielding or diagnostic systems, in industry or academia.
- Enthusiasm and desire to work in a highly regulated environment.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement.
Requirements of role:
- Able to assign to France for a 5-year period (this is supported by AWE's Global Mobility Policy)
- Able to drive (public transport to site limited)
- It is essential that candidates be capable of reaching at least B1 level, French lessons are provided.
- Full DV clearance at time of deployment.
- Willing to work in high hazard environment.
- Medically fit to work in RA and Explosive controlled area, including the wearing of negative pressure respirator.
- Expected to cover Duty Manager Rota (on-call 24/7, approximately 1 week in 6, including holiday periods)
