As the Site Mechanical Engineer you will ensure that the Johnson Matthey Clitheroe site is actively managing the integrity and statutory compliance of their critical upper COMAH environment along with managing the site improvements projects.

Your responsibilities:
Management of the sites piping specifications, providing advice, awareness and training as required Integrity needs of critical structures, vessels, pipelines, lifting gear and other assets deemed critical to satisfy the statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the site assets Sign off of PSSR inspections carried out by a ‘competent person’ Risk Based Inspection (RBI) programmes for the sites aged assets. Defining the inspection philosophy, strategy and standards for equipment/systems ensuring industry best practices are incorporated Technical input, discipline review approval of any modification to plant equipment through the Management of Change (MOC) process that could impact technical suitability of equipment Allocating and actioning of improvement projects ensuring timely completion and budget adherence Assessing the criticality and subsequent failure modes of plant items and equipment in order to drive increases in OEE and subsequently, site profitability Develop obsolescence plans for critical aged assets and action as required
Requirements for the role:
Educated to degree level in a Mechanical engineering discipline Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. COMAH, Chemical, Oil and Gas) Experience in Performance Standards and Risk Based Inspection techniques Knowledge of asset ageing and corrosion mechanisms Excellent stakeholder management skills and communication skills both written and verbal Knowledge of Microsoft Applications and other industry standard application packages Knowledge of Asset Management Systems and Document Management Systems (desirable)
