Our Apprenticeship Programmes vary from one to three years and will give you the chance to earn while you learn, gain industry recognised qualifications and valuable experience working on real world problems, with subject matter experts.

Role Profile

You will join our Manufacturing Engineering team, which provides the electronics production capability that underpins much of our cyber security business. You will work hands-on with a wide variety of electronic products, providing you with the experience and knowledge of the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, productionisation, full production, customer deployment and support.

This is a technical and hands-on role. You will work directly with hardware products that protect and maintain the security of the UK and its allies.

The focus of the Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme is on the development of the individual. In addition to the on the job training, you’ll be working towards a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship qualification. This Apprenticeship will provide you with the knowledge and skills that you’ll need to be a competent Manufacturing Engineer.

You’ll learn from colleagues who are experts in their field, and gain insights that can only come from real world experience.

Throughout this programme, you will be developed, trained and coached in skills and competencies that will help you become a successful Manufacturing Engineer.

You will be part of our Future Talent community, networking with other learners around the business, attending social events and getting involved in wider development opportunities.

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme, you’ll require the following:

  • A minimum of 96 UCAS points gained via STEM A-Level qualifications or equivalent (Eg. BTEC)
  • 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C / Level 4-9, including Mathematics, English and ICT.
  • Relevant prior experience may also be considered as an alternative to the above qualifications.


Security Clearance

Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence.
