Renewable (Offshore Wind) Maintenance Operation Engineering Technician - August 2024 intake

Base Location: Lowestoft (Suffolk)

Salary: circa £12,000 with yearly increase, moving to circa £23k on the last year of the programme (if meeting performance targets), with then entry salary of the permanent role circa £30K plus a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

Perhaps you are looking for an opportunity to learn a new skill? This Apprenticeship Programme offers you the chance to earn whilst you learn new skills. Multi-skilled mechatronic maintenance technician Apprenticeship is for people who wish to pursue a career in the maintenance of large scale commercial wind turbines

This is a 4-year programme, a combination of on- and off-the-job in a training, with on-the job being spent on learning practical skills at Great Gabbard Wind farm, and off- the-job in a training facility. You will be trained in a progressive manner and will get to put your skills into practice during both on and off the job training stages.

You will be supported throughout your programme by a wide number of colleagues including mentors, Learning and Talent support staff and business operational colleagues. You will be provided with on-the-job training and supported by our academic training partners.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have formal qualifications and accreditations that will offer you the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector. With a carefully designed development programme, you will have everything you need to progress your SSE career as far as you want to go.
