We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with experience in Transmission sector to join us in any of our offices across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects, across various technical disciplines with clients across country. These projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes etc.
You will join a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans and as a result there are lots of great development opportunities across our business. This is an opportunity for you to play an important part in the U.K. energy transition.
You will work closely with other multi-disciplinary teams supporting the FEED design and detailed design for the civil aspects of substation refurbishment/extensions, new-build substations and other electrical civil infrastructure.

About You
You will be a pro-active individual with knowledge and understanding of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You will have the capability to coach and work within the wider energy team. You will be engaged in the engineering community and understand how we can drive success for our clients, including understanding innovative solutions and industry best practices.
You can develop innovative and practical solutions to a range of problems, and an understanding of how one issue may be part of a much larger solution.
You will ideally be qualified with a Bachelor's/Masters degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), from an accredited institution and professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE is preferred. You will also have experience as civil substation engineer, with a wider awareness of other typical HV civil engineering projects.
You will have a good understanding of CDM requirements.
We are particularly interested in anyone who has good knowledge of National Grid's Transmission procedures and has thorough knowledge and experience applying National Grids Technical Specification, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks relating to civil/structural engineering of electricity T&D infrastructure in the UK.
An understanding of the causes and consequences of Impressed Voltage is preferable.
